My soul skipped with real delight\ After the pain, a rainbow in the clouds!\ I ask, “For me and not the crowds?”\ Its appearance makes such a sight!\ Marching across the sky, side to side\ Like a soldier in colourful stride.\

I wonder, the beauty of muted light.\ Being captured by nature’s splendid reveal,\ I ponder the majestic prism appeal\ Of the rainbow - for the Creator’s might,\ To paint a promise in the sky\ Of hope, prosperity; I wonder why?\

Rainbows, a symbol of deaths blight.\ Loved ones maybe near; (absence makes\ The heart grow fonder.) “Goodness sakes”,\ Is what I hear, as sun-light\ Refracts to enter each water droplet\ Then reflects back on each droplet.\

While I gaze, a poem I scan;\ Peace, goodwill to Earth and Others.\ Red to Remember, Orange for Others,\ Yellow for Yes, Green for Gratitude, Cyan\ To Cry, Blue for You, Purple for Peace.\ These hues speak to a cultural show-piece.\

When resting, the bow is a delight.\ I recall loved ones, as they appear\ In heavenly whites. With a sensitive ear\ Music and angelic song is all right.\ Their laughing smiles touch my pride,\ So magical, from the opposite side.\

On the canvas of heaven’s candlelight\ Rain and sunshine kiss a sweet embrace.\ A beacon of hope, a glimpse of grace\ The rainbow’s arch, a promise plight.\ So, we find in these colourful hues\ A warm solace among life’s fleeting blues!\

[”This is the sign of the covenant I am making\ between me and you and everything living around you\ and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow\ in the clouds, as a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth.”]\ (the Message Bible, Genesis chap 9.verses 12-17)
