Spring is nature’s annual fling
A new bird’s life is a flight to wing
The new spring lamb, a delight to bring
A new calf born, wonderful thing
Spring is nature’s annual fling.
A new peach bud, while young, knows to cling
The new spring blossom is nature’s bling
A new daffodil joins garden string
Spring is nature’s annual fling.
A new spider’s web is like a sling
The new spring insects are dash-ing
A new bumblebee learns how to sting
Spring is nature’s annual fling.
A new rabbit’s hop, is like a swing
The new spring grass is a green upswing
A new rose bloom, a radiant ring
Spring is nature’s annual fling.
A call to worship Christ, heavens King
The church’s steeple makes a merry ting
As we bring our produce and sing
The new spring’s celebratory zing
With hallelujah to the King of Kings
This poem makes it very clear that
Spring really is nature’s annual fling!

Spring is the theme for Christian Writers Wellington (Hutt Valley & Beyond) August ‘24 meeting.
Out and about, thinking of spring got me to think of the rhyme ‘thing’, ‘swing’ found other rhyming tings.
