FALLING

\ FALLING

\ falling……

You burst into the scene in spring -

fresh and full - and slowly,

through the passage of time,

you begin to brown.

As the sun lowers

\ down,

\ down,

down with shadows long

upon the ground

and summer’s last warmth

in the air you fall -

to make way for more.

with bursting flight

you descend

as an answer to my why’s.

World in Motion

The stream lifts it music

to my ears. Birds rise,

seeking special places.

Fighter jets in formation

trace their supersonic race

overhead.

As you tumble, falling -

earthward ……..gently

touching the ground.

Crushing beneath the feet

of creatures greater

than self.

This is the season’s shift -

from young to old.

The spring in your step;

the colour in your skin -

gone.

(No different to the flowers

that once gathered at our feet.)

Making Way

Turning inward,

you fade into the sunset.

Letting go, to make way,

for new fruit

that will one day grow.

You leave me

stripped of beauty,

bare -

awaiting another,

season.
