My son, we said goodbye to you today, just as the sun-set behind the distant hills.
We spoke of your humour, pranks and mischief fun, knowing you’ll be missed by everyone, who came to share your going down.
It hurts to let you go, but it be true, there be no other way, (we can’t help you stay.)
Like many before, the last sun-rays of their day had come and so had yours. We need to let you set behind those distant hills, for you to enjoy your own new dawning.
Just as the sun has set so many times before, we simply pause and watch, on this your special day.
So let the light guide your way, yeah hold every memory as you go and every road you take, will always lead you home, home. (And) I’ll tell you about it when I see you again (when I see you again.)
