Love Divine

Love unmeasurable /
love so divine, love which /
forgives all wrongs.
Love undeserving /
love so pure, love which /
comes before we are sorted.
Love unfathomable /
love so kind, love which /
seeks the lost to find.
Love unexpected /
love so true, love which /
builds, doesn’t pull down.
Love unexplainable /
love so strong, love which /
soothes the troubled mind.
Love unexpected /
love so real, love which /
knows, doesn’t destroy.
Love unthinkable /
love so pure, love which /
speaks words of wisdom.
Love unconditional /
love so true, love which /
gives its best first.
Love which gives its best /
love given freely /
given for you.

A Note on the Form:
Enjambment & Visual Slashes
This poem is constructed using enjambment—
a poetic technique where a sentence or thought
does not finish at the end of the line,
but overflows directly into the next.
By pairing this continuous flow with visible
forward slashes (/), the layout introduces
a deliberate visual and rhythmic friction.
The slashes act as speed bumps for the eye,
forcing a micro-pause that disrupts standard
reading patterns.
This structure intentionally isolates the
repeated word “love” at the start of
the following lines, demanding that
the reader pause, reset, and deeply
contemplate each evolving attribute
of divine grace.
